Speech Therapy

Joan Togami MS CCC-SLP

With nearly 1 in 12 children experiencing disorders in speech, language, voice or swallowing, what you suspect your child may be experiencing may not be uncommon.  If you have questions regarding if your child is meeting their speech or language milestones compared to their peers, I would be happy to evaluate them.  Within my clinic setting I am able and ready to diagnose and treat an extensive variety of known or presumed disorders.  Partnering with the parent is a high priority when determining the goals of therapy and when making recommendations for home carryover. It has been a life passion to help children excel and break through their speech or communication barriers. My goal for all children in therapy is that they will be able to communicate their needs within their daily environment and partner in social communication for relationship building. As the child’s communication skills are improved, so is their foundation for academic success.  As a Speech Language Pathologist, I believe that with identification of a communication problem during the early developmental stages, that there is an increased prognosis for improvement, including staging for academic success.
